I picked up this G36C airsoft body on a whim in a trade. Figured I'd stuff an Automag in it for an upcoming Modern Warfare scenario later this summer.
I started by disassembling the gun (splits in half, held together with screws). Overlaid my mag to get a rough idea of the size and placement of the mag body within the shell.

Next I took a dremel and got rid of everything inside that was in the way. Also cut out a notch for the feed. It's a left feed body and I'm a lefty, so it's all good.

However on the other side of the body, there was a recess on the outside for a kind of fake shell ejection port. The automag body is such a tight fit that I had to dremel out that recess as it stuck into the inside. I'll have to fill it in later with some plastic I guess.

Next I created a metal bracket to hold the mag body in place better in the body. This attaches to the front frame screw hole in the rail of the mag and holds the body and rail together.

And here's how it looks after 1 day of work.
