Field Review - EMR Paintball Park
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My review of EMR:
Pro shop - EMR has a nice selection in the proshop and is reasobaly priced. It's a nice clean room dedicated to the pro shop and is well organized. Good stuff. I was also pleasantly suprised to find they stocked some oddball items like 10 round tubes as well. Also for big events they get a lot of vendor booths like JT, Pinnockio, ect..
Versatility - TRP has a nice selection of woodsball fields, with the ability to combine the woodsball courses and create one giant scenario field, such as when they host Castle Conquest. They have very nice and well developed fields like Tippmann Town, and they have large open fields on the plains. Great setup and it can accomadate any type of player.
Price - It's really going to depend on how you look at it. For Castle Conquest which was a special event, I payed $35 to pre-reg and $80 for a case of paint. Thats a lot, I know. BUT - for that we got admission for the weekend, all day air, and free stay in the bunkhouses. Pro shop prices were a little inflated, but not as bad as I've seen at most other fields.
Reffing - As far as field averages go they have an exceptional ref staff. It is definately one of the best reffing fields I've seen, right up there with TRP.
Player accomodation/anemities - This was really nice. EMR has thirty something bunkhouses for players to take advantage of for their big events and there are plany of Porta Johns. They also have a snack booth that has all kinds of good food players can buy at resonable pricing.
Safety - The fields are well laid out and well played on, you don't have jagged debris and nails littering the field. They are very stern on rules about masks and barrel bags and do a good orientation before the day starts. I've seen them checking ramping and on field chronoing as well. All in all I am very comfortable playing here.
Overall - If there is one thing every serious paintballer MUST do at least ONCE, it's go to EMR for one of their Castle Conquests. 'nuff said.
